Fiver to a healthy life

Hi folks, with my wedding less than four months away… I’ve decided to share the tips and tricks I use in losing some weight before the big day…or maybe just a fiver to a healthy lifestyle….

I’m not a big fitness freak nor a fitness guru but yes I am someone who is lazy as lazy can get, but these five tips make me feel light and have gradually helped me lose some weight…

Mind you, this process isn’t quick nor will you see results within a quick finger snap. But though the process is slow and steady, it does help you achieve something for the long run…

I hope it helps y’all too…

Also these tips, which are simple and easy to follow are mostly from my dear family and my parents who worry about my health…

I start my mornings drinking hot water with a little honey and few drops of lemon or lime whichever is easily accessible.

This helps in purifying your system and burns all those unnecessary bad fats in your body from the previous night…

Being in London, away from home and with a hectic life schedule normally we end up having a good heavy dinner as our only major meal for the day… I’m sure most of y’all with the same situation as I, would agree to this. So, having hot water with lemon and some honey for a little sweetness helps burn all those undigested fats from the night before…

Also, it just kick starts my morning and reduces unnecessary bloating…

The second and MOST important (very very important to me,actually) tip to lose weight is never skip breakfast even if that means you’re only having some fruits. Breakfast should be had within the first 30 minutes after waking up… something I heard or read a while back-I don’t really remember, but I do try and apply it to myself.

Here, breakfast for me is not always something healthy. I love exploring various options. So, one day I might have a nice and fluffy onion and tomato omelette with some buttered toast but I would still incorporate something like garlic in my omelette which again has amazing health benefits. Also, I try and use less oil…

On another day I might just have a bowl of porridge with some fresh berries and honey or muesli with low fat yoghurt and fruits…

So whatever your breakfast options are, according to me, just go for it… but don’t laze around after a heavy breakfast like I used to do before…do some type of movement.

The next tip is having this magical ingredient, a teaspoon full- a day…Dry roasted linseeds or flax seeds are crucial for me everyday… and for Nigel, too.

Flaxseeds which are low in carbs and high in fibre and omega-3 have a number of health benefits:

  • Improves digestion (beneficial for weight loss)
  • Gives you clear skin and healthy hair
  • Reduces sugar cravings (crucial for weight loss)
  • Lowers cholesterol (burns all those unclean fats)
  • PROMOTES WEIGHT LOSS
  • I normally incorporate flaxseeds in smoothies, my morning bowl of porridge or muesli, soups and dal(ground flaxseed powder for these) and salads for that extra crunch.
  • Hot water with cinnamon and honey is my next important thing to have daily… Cinnamon has been used as a natural medicine for many years to improve health and for weight loss.

It helps to stabilise your appetite thus making you crave less for unhealthy foods, which in turn facilitates weight loss. It is funny how, though cinnamon makes you crave less, it has now become one of my delicious cravings to have a glass full of cinnamon water with honey, daily.

And lastly, Drink lots of water… one litre, two litres or however many gallons…🤫

Water is a must have…even if it’s freezing cold outside and you have to pop in to the loo many, many times..drinking water daily cannot be skipped…

This is something I learn from Nigel..he loves his water and can easily finish drinking 2-litres of water at a time… I’m not a very big water drinker like he is but I still make it a point to drink as much as I possibly can.. so I would say at-least 2 litres a day for me… which is equal to 8 glasses of water…

There are a number of other things I do but I’m not that consistent with them..but these five tips are a must for me and I see myself continuing it even after the wedding… so it’s like a lifestyle change for me…

Together with these five, also incorporate other good habits like admiring nature and breathing fresh air, so maybe a walk to the park or a little jogging. Some basic exercising, stretching, walking… that means walking instead of taking the bus for a kilometre journey…or even avoiding a bike ride to nearby places…

Workout 20mins everyday at-least. Try and have other detox drinks or infused drinks which are also important. Maybe sipping on some green tea whenever you are busy watching TV or reading or even chilling out in general…

Last but not the least… think positive and learn to be happy no matter how tough life gets and no matter how hard life throws itself at you…

    NEVER GIVE UP
